Hey Tigers! I hope that everyone’s first week in the New Year as been refreshing! I just wanted to give everyone an update on what has been going on with me as well as what is going on around Baton Rouge!

First off, the deadline for the Miss LSU registration is right around the corner! The 29th is the LAST day to register and the pageant will be on April 10th. So get those papers in and you are set! My Birthday will be on January 11th and can you believe I will be 23?!? I know I can’t! To celebrate my old age I will running my first (and possibly last) half-marathon at the Louisiana Marathon on 17th! It’s an amazing event with tons of food, art, and it’s all for charity. I encourage you to come out and have good time. Runner or not it’s a bunch of fun for people of all ages!

Secondly, I will making an appearance at Max Fitness for their Fitness Party. If your New Year’s resolution is to be healthier, I suggest coming check out this gym! I go there every single day and they make me feel like family! There is a cardio room with movies playing all day, they even offer yoga and Zumba classes! Come visit me and check out the gym while you are there!

Coming up in February is Miss Imani. This is a pageant that is put on every year in the Union Theatre. It’s actually a preliminary to Miss LSU-USA! Good Luck to all of the girls competing. My mom and I will me there so come and join us to support these beautiful girls!

Finally, for the next two months I will probably be something of a hermit because I will be studying for the GRE ☹

But hey, don’t let that stop you from telling me about events and asking questions about Miss LSU, because I guarantee that I will basically do anything to get out of studying!

Just a couple people I want to thank for making the holiday season a breeze for me! Thank you to my main man Kevin at Nail Finiti for always making my nails look amazing. I was never one to get my nails done until I met Kevin; There’s something about having awesome looking nails that just make me feel more confident. And of course I always leave there feeling like a princess!

Thank you Jenna at Heavenly Lashes for my Lash extensions. I suggest this to anyone who wants to cut their makeup time in half! I literally wear barely any eye makeup because of how naturally beautiful these extensions make my eyes look! Check out their Facebook page or message me for details!

I want to thank my girl Megan from Fit for A Queen for keeping me motivated throughout my half marathon training. What a trainer?!?! I mean, she’s running it with me and has been there with me through the whole process! Work with Meg if you really want to get that summer body going, she has tons of programs that will fit anybody’s lifestyle.

And finally all of the Delta Zeta girls who are constantly checking in on me and promoting the pageant. These girls are doing SO much work and have been working on this since the day after I won!

ALSO! Shout-out to one of our Miss LSU family members! Our Miss LSU-USA 2013, Hilary Tuttle, who is getting married this month. I don’t know how she does it all but she is such a fabulous role model! Congrats to her and her family!
