The 2017 Miss LSU-USA Pageant was held on Sunday, March 26 in the LSU Student Union Theater.
The day began at the Delta Zeta house where the contestant interviews were held. The contestants met individually with each of the five judges.
Around 3:00 that afternoon, the contestants arrived at the LSU Student Union and began preparing for the pageant.
Doors opened at 5:00 and the theater soon began to fill up with family and friends ready to cheer on their contestant.
The pageant began at 6:00 with an opening from emcee Candice Marie Bennett, a former NFL cheerleader and Miss Louisiana-USA 2015, followed by an opening number where each contestant introduced themselves.
The swimwear portion came next, followed by evening gown.
After a brief intermission, the voting for My Miss LSU, the fan favorite contest, ended and the Top Five were announced.
Top Five: Courtney Tassin, Alyssa Ceasar, Wendy Martin, Sydney Saia, and Keighley Kelley
The Top Five contestants were asked to answer on-stage questions on important issues facing LSU.
After the on-stage questions, the Tiger Tenors performed during a video presentation of Delta Zeta’s philanthropies and Miss LSU-USA 2016 did her final walk.
Finally the winners were announced:
Most Photogenic – Alyssa Ceasar
Miss Congeniality – Hayden Harris
Fan Favorite – Ali Williams
Best Interview – McCaala Nelson
Best Swimsuit – Hayden Harris
Best Evening Gown – Ali Williams
4th runner up – Sydney Saia
3rd runner up – Courtney Tassin
2nd runner up – Keighley Kelley
1st runner up – Wendy Martin
