Khaila is from Chicago, IL. She is a senior majoring in mass communication and minoring in business administration.

Khaila is an LSU Ambassador, the Vice President of Minority Women’s Movement, and a member of the Black Leadership Council.

She would like to pursue a career in entertainment PR or Branding and she is currently using her personal brand as a platform to gain exposure in the entertainment industry. Khaila also has a love for fashion and beauty.

In her free time she loves to read, watch movies, and listen to podcasts. She also participates in Crossfit, as she is very interested in fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Khaila is currently focused on launching her personal website that will serve as a portfolio and lifestyle blog. Outside of academia and personal interests, she spends a lot of time serving LSU and the Baton Rouge community through the multiple civic organizations she is involved in.

This is what Khaila says when asked why she wanted to participate in the Miss LSU-USA Pageant:

“Ever since I was a child, I was taught that there is purpose in everything we do. To live life with purpose means to understand your beliefs, values, and who you are deep inside. Then, sharing that with everyone around you and influencing them to live with purpose as well. By entering the Miss LSU pageant, I aim to serve as a true representation of LSU. Being an LSU Tiger has been an honor and will be remembered as the absolute most riveting time in my life. My experiences at this university have molded me into the person I am today and have taught me how to hold myself and others to the highest standards of academic, personal, and social integrity. As a student at LSU I have learned the importance of making an impact with each new endeavor designed to improve not only the culture where I matriculate, but the community as a whole.”

She hopes to leave a legacy at LSU that will make an honest difference. “My hard work and dedication on this campus are fueled by the possibility of creating a clearer pathway to success for women to come. I aim to embody the true characteristics of a leader, holding myself and others to the highest standards of academic, personal, and social integrity. I strive to use my platform to communicate the importance of diversity and inclusiveness, by respecting the differences of all people. I hope my role as a leader at LSU inspires other students to make the commitment to contributing positively to both LSU and the Baton Rouge community.”

Khaila says that throughout her college career it has been her mission to use her personal platform as a leader to make students feel included and comfortable. She says that she is most looking forward to representing leadership on LSU’s campus through the Miss LSU-USA Pageant.
