2017 Contestant Spotlight: Emiley Dillon

VividDream-16

Emiley is a junior from Shreveport, Louisiana majoring in mass communication and double minoring in business and political science.

She is a reporter for LSU’s Tiger TV, a member of the LSU Mock Trial Team, involved in multiple honor societies, and is a member of Delta Gamma.

She enjoys news reporting, mock trial, raising awareness for her nonprofit “The Dance Project,” and distance running for causes. Something interesting about Emiley is that she can talk really fast like an auctioneer.

Emiley wanted to participate in the Miss LSU-USA Pageant in order to raise awareness and get the campus involved in volunteer organizations like her nonprofit, The Dance Project.

The Dance Project is a free dance camp dedicated to promoting volunteerism, confidence, and self-advancement in girls. The organization hosts non-cost activities for underprivileged kids in the community.

If crowned Miss LSU-USA 2017, she hopes to expand her ability to positively affect the community by being a voice and role model, along with meeting more people outside of her current organizations.

Emiley is most looking forward to the friendships and experiences that are made as a contestant of the pageant.

She would like to use the Miss LSU-USA platform to continue to raise awareness and promote the mission behind her nonprofit, The Dance Project.
