Throwback Thursday: Miss LSU 1986, Ona Carson Robbins

Ona Carson Robbins participated in the Miss LSU pageant her  freshmen, junior, and senior years at LSU, when it was the Miss LSU – Miss America Pageant.

In both her junior and senior year she was First Runner Up, and she also won the categories of evening gown, interview, talent, and Miss Congeniality.

She was able to take over the title of Miss LSU 1986 when the titleholder went on to Miss America. As Miss LSU, Ona enjoyed performing at the Baton Rouge River Center for Songfest and crowning the next Miss LSU.

During her time at LSU, Ona was the President of Zeta Tau Alpha and Scotchguard Secretary. She graduated with a degree in marketing  in 1987. Ona went on to earn degree in nursing, where she practiced as a registered nurse at East Jefferson Hospital, and eventually completed her Masters of Public Health.

She is the proud mother of two children and currently lives in Baton Rouge.

Ona encourages everyone to work very hard despite the odds, find a way to laugh, and never forget to love.
